Silver objects for a Japanese meal.

Chopsticks, walnut and silver.
Stand for chopsticks, made of silver.
Rice bowl with hammered leaf pattern.
Silver Bowl with soy-colored freshwater pearl.

Back from Japan

These things I made last time I came home from Japan. It is almost 10 years ago. I was so happy about all the small little items that were used in Japanese cuisine. It was the first time I seriously tried to make silver corpus.

Wondering how I would make them today? Wonder how that silver jug I make right now will turn out? I will show you when it is finished!

I participate in exhibitions at Kulturhuset and at Gallery LOD!

My silver fork .. from the woods!

Exhibition at Gallery LOD; T H E F O R K

Opening on Saturday 7/3 12:00 to 16:00

- Does the Devil wield a Fork?
- No that’s a trident silly?
- What’s a trident?
- A type of fork.

Lod’s fifteen-year anniversary is all about the fork, and about our relationship with food. For this occasion we have invited all our apprentices, members and exhibitors, who have worked with us in the past, to participate in this joint exhibition.
The fork is a curious everyday item that arrived late in our culinary history, a companion for its predecessor, the spoon. Where did it come from? Who invented it?
Possibly, someone with an itchy body part, unreachable by hand? Or an ogre who bit down on a spoon with his jagged teeth? Or maybe someone who just needed an implement to hold a piece of food while it was cut with a knife in the other hand.
The fork is more than a table to mouth food facilitator. Both seductive and menacing; it has its own particular danger. It has the ability to stab and puncture. It invites participation and never fails to engage.
Even in language the fork is associated with division and union. This juxtaposition is represented in the fork of a river, a tree, or a road. The phrase “to speak with a forked tongue” reveals its allegiance with mendacity and subterfuge. In short the fork is an unsolved mystery, embracing both good and evil.
Please join us, we promise an intriguing, weird and wonderful exhibition that is sure to entertain.

My silver Mug gets its handle.

Silver cup, "Farytayls and Fire Sides".
Here is a picture story on what happened when this cup was given its handle. An insight into my everyday life, a picture of all those little movements, and considerations, which is what creates an object. If you want to know more about my silver cup and the ideas behind it you can read it in my other blog "Silver in everyday life."

Right now this cup on the way to Kulturhuset to participate in an exhibition Nutida Svenskt Silver has in Nationalmuseets   temporary booth there.

Hairpins of silver, with clouds and flowers.

Silver jewelery for the hair, "flower".
Silver jewelery for the hair, "cloud".

Happy Valentine's Day!

Yesterday I devoted myself to developing hairpins. It started last week with that I came to LOD without putting up my hair. I'm just not ready to work with my hair in my face, so I made a couple of panic needles of hard-rolled silver to put it up. This works, I thought, and if I add an ornament on the top, it will be even better!

Wedding ring season has begun!

One ring of titanium, one in Swedish gold with light coffee colored diamonds that reflects the titaniums warm gray color.

Right now, I get a lot of exciting email from people who want me to do their wedding or engagement rings. What an honor! I reply by posting some new pictures of my rings.

I'm writing a new blog about using silverware!

My last silver jug is the first object I get to discuss in my new blog.
Foto Christian Habetzeder.
I made a blog where I hope to get help from my friends to analyze how I can make people want to use silverware in everyday life.

Is there value in the material or the price of the work I put down standing in the way? Is it the tradition of silver as luxury items? Or is there something in the object itself that is missing?
